Landmark Sculpture comes to the Wildlife Center

This week the Suisun Wildlife Center received its largest Barn Owl ever – a ten foot barn owl donated by noted local mixed metal sculptor Phillip Glashoff!  This generous donation came about as a result of the upcoming exhibit at the Lawler House Gallery in Suisun City, presented by the Fairfield Visual Arts Association.

The exhibit, titled “Touching Wild, Touching Art, kicks off with an artists reception at the Lawler House Gallery Saturday, August 3, 5-8 pm. The theme is wildlife/nature art, and the exhibit will run through October 27th. For more information go to www.lawlerhousegallery.org/events.

On September 21, another reception will be held to benefit the Suisun Wildlife Center, also from 5-8 pm.  The Glashoff owl will be on viting display, and the Wildlife Center will be presenting their non-releasable native California wildlife – bring your camera!  A silent auction will be held

Executive Director Monique Liguori said, “The owl is fabulous and we have dreamed of having one of Phil’s pieces for years.  It is certainly another great reason for people to come out and visit! We think it will become the symbol of the Wildlife Center.”
